Join the TAN Group: Long-Term Recruitment of Postdocs, Research Assistants & PhD Students

The TAN Group at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), led by Professor Bin Tan, is continuously recruiting highly motivated postdoctoral researchers, research assistants, and PhD students. We welcome talented researchers who are passionate about organic synthesis, asymmetric catalysis, and the discovery of new catalytic concepts.

Research Focus

Our research focuses on the development of catalytic asymmetric organic methodologies for the systematic construction of axially chiral scaffolds. We combine new asymmetric arene chemistry with catalyst design and mechanistic studies to address important challenges in stereoselective synthesis.

  • Systematic development of axially chiral scaffolds through catalytic asymmetric synthesis
  • Asymmetric arene chemistry and the activation and functionalization of aromatic systems
  • Atroposelective construction of axially chiral biaryl, spirocyclic, alkene, diene, and related pi-conjugated architectures
  • Development of novel organocatalysts and asymmetric activation modes, including sigma-hole-based catalysis
